I’m seriously obsessed with this salmon pâté. Pâtés are such an easy and delicious way to slip protein into your meal or snack. I picked mine up at the farmer’s market, but keep an eye out for them at Whole Foods, too.
This lunch was SO easy to whip up, and it checked off all of my boxes!
The creamy, tangy salmon pâté goes perfectly with a crispy piece of whole wheat toast. On the side, I snuck in some nuts and a fruit & veggie bar. It can take a lot of searching, but I finally found some good bars:
- Pressed Kind bars: with only fruit and vegetables, they definitely pass the simple ingredient test and slip essential nutrients into your busy schedule.
- regular Kind bars: if you spend an extra minute checking out the options, you’ll find a bunch of Kind bars with 5 grams of sugar or less!
- Larabars: I love that these have such a simple ingredients list, but watch out for some that are super high in sugar.
- Crunchy Nut & Seed Larabars: less sugar, added chia seeds, and more crunch. What’s not to love?
Do it yourself:
- protein & whole grain carbs: an open faced sandwich consisting of whole wheat toast with salmon pâté (feel free to add some mashed avocado on there, too)
- healthy fats: nut mixture on the side
- extra nutrients: Pressed Kind bar (pineapple, banana, kale, and spinach)
